The first time I heard of Maya Angelou was when I was going to San Antonio College, I heard more about her when I attended ST Philips college. I felt in love with this woman poetry, not only what the message is, but hearing her say them herself.
She is a very motivational woman who talks from the heart and experience. This someone I would definitely like for my students to learn from her poetry. One of my favorites poems is "Still I Rise" If you had not heard this poem listen to it, and see what you think? This is an inspirational woman, when you feel like you are at the end of the line and you can not take it anymore let her live interviews motivate you, not to give up! It does for me.
