3321 M-W Author Profile (poetry)

A Light in the Attic poems by Shel Silverstein,
This author has interesting books, This book has poems about the attic of Shel Silverstein describing children in many different ways while experiencing different situations.
For example "Sour Face Ann" This book was rated for children 6 and up I disagree, I think this is better for 3rd graders and up. Their are different poems that I do not like for instance "Kidnapped" My interpretation about this poem it is about a student being late to school and his excuse for being late is that he was kidnapped. It gives specifics of what happen, I do not like it, but on the other hand it can happen, because the kidnappers offer him candy and describes what they did to him. Some of these poems are Bizzare.

  1. Blanca, good job on describing the transaction that you had with Shel Silverstein's work. I love his poetry and I do admit that it can get a little strange at times. How is your reading coming along? Tell me about what you thought about the video clip that we watched on Maya Angelou... Talk to you soon.
