O.K. this is the deal my kids had early release today and we decided to go to the library and this is a good book I found. This book teaches about the Hispanic culture. This is a tale about a Mexican Village boy named Pancho, who rescues a star from a cactus, he keeps it, then he decides to pass it on to the children from the village. Sharing his happiness and joy to other children. This is a story about giving in Christmas, in a Mexican tradition.
I loved this book because I can relate to it, when I visit my family in Mexico we always break a Pinata and sing Christmas carols, uhh! My point is that children can sometimes relate to stories while others can learn and get ideas how other cultures celebrate.
Hi! I agreewith you my daughter reads and sometimes she relates tothe story. She will get emotional if the book is about a grandfather because she remembers about her grandpa whih she longer has. There are several books that she can relate to.I can also relate to someof the stories that I have read.
ReplyDeleteI remember when my children were little they had a little issue sharing, they were only a year apart and were inseparable. I remeber taking them to the library and checking out a book on sharing and reading it together. Kids often enjoy reading books they can relate too because it offers them a different perspective on whatever topic is at hand.
